Happy Australia Day
I know the tradition is all about beer, barbies and lamb chops but, when that's all done and dusted, reality kicks back in. You still need to go to work tomorrow, the kids have their first day back at school and your need to de-stress will reach a crescendo at approximately 7:53pm. If you haven't got a decent book to read, don't panic because Chapter Two Books is open at our usual hours 10am-5pm on Australia Day. Come in and enjoy the store (Oi, oi, oi)!

Our Door Is Always Open
OK. The dust has settled after another hectic Christmas season and we've re-calibrated, if not recovered. So the burning question is... I want to have a relaxing jaunt through the Adelaide Hills, when can I pop into Chapter Two Books, that charming little bookshop in Stirling?? Well, the answer is... EVERY DAY!!! Our 2010 hours are: Mon-Fri 10am-5pm & Sat-Sun 10am-4pm. If this isn't convenient for you (eg you are nocturnal or live on the other side of the planet) then please contact us, perhaps by email, so that we can chat and help you find the book you've always wanted.

Your favourite Hills bookshop on the Big Screen!
You may remember a few months back that our little shop was the setting for a scene in a locally-produced short film called 'The Summit'. Well the hard work has been completed and a screening is being held next week. Here are the details:
January 23rd at 8pm
Higher Ground Theatre
9 Light Square, Adelaide
This is a free event - more details can be found at http://scheffilm.blogspot.com/
I don't expect you'll see any Chapter Two Books signage in the film, so don't blink!
See you there :)

Catastrophic Closure
As I write this, I am happy to report that the Mt Lofty Ranges survived its first 'catastrophic'-rated day with only a couple of serious fires breaking out that were admirably contained by CFS crews. What it meant for Chapter Two Books was that we were closed yesterday - unfortunately we must sometimes accept that our beautiful Adelaide Hills are not the best place to be (this is, of course, on very rare occasions). We were back in action today (in the rain!! can you believe this mad weather?) and have just received some great new fiction. So come on into Stirling, grab some gems from our wonderful selection of second-hand books and find a shady tree - rumour has it the weather over the next week or so is going to be ideal!
